Call for Proposals-Occasional Paper Series Publication
Black in America: A Scholarly Response to the CNN Documentary
The Center for African American Research and Policy invites proposals for consideration in one of its new publications entitled Occasional Paper Series. The theme of this special issue is “Black in America: A Scholarly Response to the CNN Documentary.” The Center for African American Research and Policy invites proposals for manuscripts (conceptual work, research syntheses, discussions and reports) specifically examining this topic. Manuscripts can include examinations from all different academic fields (i.e., education, health disparities, social work, etc.).
Proposal Submission Guidelines: All proposals for this Occasional Paper Series topic should be submitted via the on-line submission system by August 15, 2008 with an additional copy e-mailed to Dr. Chance W. Lewis at clewis@caarpweb.org. Each proposal should be in MS Word format.

All authors who submit an abstract by August 15, 2008 will be notified to participate in a special panel session at the BOTA Think Tank in October 2008 in Memphis, TN.

Authors submit 1st drafts of manuscripts to Chance W. Lewis and James L. Moore III.
November 15, 2008 – January 15, 2009
Manuscripts will undergo both peer review editors’ review.
January 15, 2009
Manuscripts will be returned with feedback from reviewers to authors for revision
February 15, 2009
Revised manuscripts will be returned to the Center for African American Research and Policy
February 15, 2009 – March 15, 2009
