I. Morning Session (9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon)
Overview of the NIH Grant Process: Referral, Program, Review, and Grants Management. Tips for successfully funded NIH applications.

Coffee Break: Panel 1 and 2 are concurrent

Panel 1: Primary Mechanisms R01, R21, and R03—The nuts and bolts:
basic/translational/clinical. Questions and answers.
Session A. Junior Investigators
Session B. Mid-Senior Investigators
(Session A and B are concurrent)

Panel 2: Overview of NIH Training and Fellowship Opportunities and the
Application Process—K awards: K07, K09, K08, K23, K99, K05; F awards; and DP2 and other mechanisms for early investigators. Questions and answers.
Session A. Junior Investigators
Session B. Mid-Senior Investigators

II. Lunch and Networking (12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.)

III. Afternoon Session (1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
CSR Panel: Submit an Application20 and Review—Basic/translational/clinical and nuts and bolts on e-submission.

Coffee Break

Mock Review Panel—Funded and unfunded applications will be provided. The proposed
reviewers will provide their critique as in IRG study session. The audience could ask questions after each critique.
