RESEARCH ASSISTANCE: AFRICAN AMERICAN STEPMOTHER STUDY
Greetings,
I am writing to invite you to take part in a future research study. The primary goal of the research is to examine the specific experiences of African American Stepmothers. At this time, I am interested in collecting the names and contact information of potential participants.
To be considered for inclusion in the study, you must meet the following criteria:
1) Identify yourself as African American
2) Be a stepparent of a child who identifies as being African American
3) Be legally married to a man who identifies himself as African American
4) Be willing to participate in a group discussion* regarding specific experiences as a stepparent
* The focus Groups may be ONLINE, geographic location of participants is unrestricted

If you don’t meet the criteria as listed, but know someone who does, please forward this information to them.
It is hoped that your participation in this study will yield important information to assist African American Stepmothers in their experience and enlighten the clinicians that work with them as well as the academicians that study them. The results of this study will be made available to all participants at the conclusion of the research.
